Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-30

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Pocketleaf ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with Kinfur (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and collecting as little data as possible.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we process

Information you create in the App. Content you enter (such as entries, settings and preferences) is stored on your device, and the parts of it that other people in the App are meant to see are also stored on our servers so they stay up to date — the section below sets out exactly what that covers.

Purchase information. If you buy a subscription or in-app purchase, the transaction is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive confirmation of your purchase status through our subscription provider but never receive your payment card details.

Technical and diagnostic information. Like most apps, we and our service providers may process limited technical data (such as device type, app version, and crash or performance diagnostics) to keep the App working reliably.

Household sync

Kinfur keeps every caregiver in a household up to date by syncing that household's data through our hosting provider's database. What is synced is the household itself, the caregivers in it (display name and role), each pet's profile (name, species, breed, weight — not the pet's photo, which stays device-only), medications and their schedules, and the dose log. This is the content every caregiver in your household is meant to see.

There is no account, email address or password. A household is identified by a 6-character code, and the only way to learn it is to be given it by someone already in the household. Anyone with the code can read and change that household's data from their own device — share it only with people who actually care for the same pets.

Because there is no account, we cannot tell which person a household belongs to. If you want a household's data deleted from our servers, email us the household's code from the address you want us to reply to, and we will delete it.

A medication label photo is read on-device to fill in a schedule and is never uploaded or stored — only the text you confirm (name, dose) is saved.

Backups you export stay wherever you save them — they are not uploaded to us.

3. How we use information

We use information to operate and maintain the App, provide purchased features, respond to support requests, fix problems, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Third-party services

We rely on trusted third-party platforms to provide the App, including the app stores (Apple App Store, Google Play) and a subscription-management provider. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the policies of the platform you use.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share limited information with service providers acting on our behalf, or where required by law, to protect our rights, or as part of a business transfer.

6. Data retention

Content stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. Any information processed by our providers is retained only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law.

Content that is synced so other people can see it remains on our servers until it is deleted from the App or you ask us to remove it, as described above. Uninstalling the App on one device does not by itself delete synced content.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA).

Because much of your data stays on your device, you can exercise many of these rights directly by editing or deleting content in the App. For anything else, contact us using the details below.

9. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will address it.

10. International users

The App may be used worldwide. Where information is processed by our providers, it may be handled in countries other than your own, with appropriate safeguards in place.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be reflected in the App or on this page.
