Body-composition photo scan

Track the trend, not a guess.

A guided photo scan returns a body-fat range with its error margin shown. Scan every two weeks and read the direction, not a verdict.

  • Range, not false precision
  • ±4–5 point margin shown
  • Not a medical device

Example · illustrationScan 7
16–20%body fat, estimated range
Typical error of a photo estimate±4–5 pts

The range is the estimate. The shaded margin is the honest part. One photo is never a verdict.

The honest part

The margin is part of the result.

A photo cannot give a precise body-fat figure. LeanScan shows the typical error on every result, draws it into the trend, and never leads with a single digit.

Solid bar: the estimated range. Pale band: the typical error of about ±4–5 points. The single point estimate is deliberately not drawn.

  1. 01

    A range, not a point

Every estimate returns a low and a high value and a neutral band label.

  2. 02

    The margin on every chart

The trend line is drawn inside its shaded error band, so a small move is read as noise when it is noise.

  3. 03

    Numbers Off if you prefer

Hide every percentage and keep only the shape of the trend, the bands and your photos.

Trend

The line shows direction. The band shows the truth.

Scan every two weeks by default. The trend appears from the second scan.

Illustrative data, not a real user. Shaded band = typical error of about ±4–5 points.

What you get

Built around the margin, not around a number.

Guided scan

A silhouette overlay and framing tips for light, distance and a plain background. You confirm each photo before it is sent.

A range, not a single digit

Every estimate comes back as a body-fat range with a neutral band label. A precise percentage is never the headline.

Trend with its margin

The trend line sits inside a shaded band of about ±4–5 points, so the uncertainty stays visible instead of hidden.

Before / after slider

Numbers Off mode

Hide every percentage and track only the shape of the trend, the bands and your photos.

How it works

Three steps, and the first scan sets your baseline.

  1. 01

    Calibrate

Choose units, sex and goal. Bands are read against norms for your sex, so the setup matters.

  2. 02

    Scan

One photo on Free. Up to three angles on Monthly or Yearly: front, side and back. You check each photo before it is sent.

  3. 03

    Track

Scan every two weeks and read the band across several scans, not one result on its own.

Questions

Straight answers.

Is LeanScan a medical device?

No. LeanScan is a wellness trend tool. It does not diagnose, treat or clinically measure body composition, and it does not replace a clinician, a dietitian or a proper body-composition test.

How accurate is the body-fat estimate?

Photo-based estimates are approximate. Every result shows a typical error of about ±4–5 percentage points, so read it as a band and as a trend over several scans, not as one exact number.

What happens to my photo?

The photo is sent once to our AI provider to produce the estimate. We do not keep it on our servers after the request. Photos you keep for the before/after comparison are encrypted on your phone. Exported backups never include photos.

What is free?

One scan every 30 days, with one photo. Monthly or yearly gives you 6 scans per 30 days and up to 3 photos per scan: front, side and back.

Can I hide the numbers?

Yes. Numbers Off keeps your trend shape, bands and photos, and hides every percentage, including on the widget.

Is it safe to use if I check my body often?

Frequent checks can be stressful. If tracking your body starts to feel like pressure, turn on Numbers Off or take a break. If you have concerns about eating or body image, talk to a qualified professional.

Does LeanScan read Apple Health or Health Connect?

No. LeanScan does not read from or write to Apple Health or Health Connect.
